Guests will choose one from a selection of FIVE different workshops covering:

All tutors are invited to join us By Recommendation Only. They have been selected for their unique ability to join in the informality that represents the most important aspect of all WRITERS’ HOLIDAY events. Each workshop will consist of six one hour sessions and will run from Friday evening, through Saturday and finish after lunch on Sunday.

1. Poetry Workshop with Alison Chisholm

Guests are invited to submit 2 poems to the tutor prior to the event to help gauge standard and pitch for the sessions, and sessions will encourage both individual and collective participation.

2. Write a short story - step by step - and give it the best chance of publication with Della Galton

A NEW series of six short story workshop sessions. Start with nothing - end up with a short story that could sell - and a guide to the market/competition it could be suitable for. Della will guide you from the bare paper over six sessions to the finished short story.

3. ADVANCED Contemporary Romance workshop with Kate Walker

A series of six advanced novel workshop sessions led by Kate Walker. This course is open to previous Fishguard workshop OR Caerleon Romance course participants OR those who have been on Kate’s basic Romance courses OR Kate's workshops elsewhere. It is NOT for beginners. Designed especially for Fishguard to move you on, the whole weekend will be concentrated on this workshop - without other distractions. Guests are encouraged to complete work with Kate prior to the weekend commencement.

4.The Novel workshop - TBA

A series of six novel workshop sessions led by one of our expert and professional tutors. Guests are invited to submit a sample first chapter and synopsis to the tutor prior to the event to help gauge standard and pitch for the sessions, and sessions will encourage both individual and collective participation on works in progress.

5. Painting and Drawing workshop with Andrew Earney

A series of six painting and drawing workshop sessions led by one of our expert and professional tutors. No prior experience is required for this workshop and a questionnaire will be forwarded to guests to gauge standard and pitch for the workshops.
